Great joy at Visit Düsseldorf: DestinationCamp, the leading event for the tourism industry in German-speaking countries, will take place in Düsseldorf in 2025. From June 3 to 6, 2025, tourism professionals from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will meet in the Rhine metropolis to exchange ideas about the current trends and challenges in the industry and to develop new ideas.
Düsseldorf's spirit - an enrichment for the event
"The DestinationCamp has developed into a real brand in the German-speaking tourism region over the last few years and has long been a fixed date in the annual calendar for employees of destinations, service providers and service providers," says Jens Ihsen, Director of Düsseldorf Convention and designated Managing Director of Visit Düsseldorf. "We are honored to be able to welcome the participants of this event format to Düsseldorf next year. The state capital Düsseldorf stands for cosmopolitanism and innovation and so we are looking forward to continuing to promote tourism and socially relevant topics here on the Rhine next year," Ihsen continued. Ihsen traveled to Lake Constance especially to announce at the closing gala of this year's DestinationCamp that the industry event will come to the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2025.
"We are expecting around 280 congress participants in 2025 and are convinced that the special Düsseldorf feeling will enrich the spirit of the DestinationCamp," emphasized Benjamin Buhl when presenting the conference venue in Bregenz. He is managing director of netzvitamine GmbH from Sonthofen and Hamburg and chief organizer of the industry meeting.
Unique congress format
The DestinationCamp is more than just a conference. It is a think tank for managers and motivated designers, a driver for the industry's agenda and a place where all tourism segments come together. Participants include platforms and travel agencies, hotels and leisure providers, destinations, associations, political opinion leaders and academia.
In a unique mix of congress, BarCamp, moderated workshops and professional supporting program, the DestinationCamp offers a valuable platform for inspiration and exchange. The organizing team at netzvitamine places particular emphasis on environmental friendliness and sustainability. The DSTNCMP 23 was the first congress in Austria to be awarded the “Green Meeting” seal of quality.
About the DestinationCamp
The netzvitamine team launched the DestinationCamp in 2011 and has since then brought all players in the industry together every year to enter into an open and honest discourse. Since 2020, the "industry think tank" has operated under the brand name DSTNCMP and is not only considered the driving force of the industry, but also a pioneer of "workation" - a modern congress and conference format that combines work and leisure on an equal footing. The artificial word is made up of the English terms "work" and "vacation".
With Düsseldorf as host, the industry event is returning to a major German city for its 15th year. This year, Vorarlberg's state capital Bregenz hosted the event from May 21 to 24, and in 2023 it was Kufstein in Tyrol. In the twelve years before that, the "Think Tank of Tourism" in Hamburg had developed into the leading event, enabling participants to exchange ideas in person without interruption, even during the Corona years.
