The European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) opened its doors to nearly 1000 participants from across Europe at its annual congress taking place in Budapest.

 

EUSOBI President, Dr. Julia Camps Herrero introduced a packed programme to delegates at the Novotel Budapest Congress Centre including risk assessment, MRI, new developments in breast Imaging, staging and follow up.

 

EUSOBI Past President and local Congress organiser, Prof. Gábor Forrai followed with a few words on cultural highlights in Budapest for attendees to enjoy and introduced the Löwenberg-Sherry-Götz Trio who performed pieces by leadingHungarian composers of the 20th century.


Day one covered how Imaging methods DBT, Mammography, Tomosynthesis, Ultrasound and MRI, can be better leveraged individually and together for improved patient comfort and breast care.

The sessions were followed by lively Q & A sessions with most popular questions voted on by delegates via the EUSOBI congress app.

In addition to clinical presentations, general management and teamwork are part of the 2019 focus with a Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) session and AI in breast Imaging

This year’s meeting is organised in collaboration with the Hungarian Society of Radiology, Section of Breast Imaging, with active participation of Hungarian pathologists, breast surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists.


In an effort to extend bonds with other societies around the world, this year EUSOBI is meeting with Australian breast radiologists. “Cross-border networking amongst breast radiologists is beneficial for insights into colleagues’ challenges and solutions,”
