Description

Under the supervision of the Cancer Services Infusion Scheduling Supervisor, the Infusion Scheduler is responsible for scheduling and coordinating multiple complex Infusion Center appointments including infusion, fast track and lab visits for non-oncology and oncology patients. This position works closely with patients, providers, nursing team, and leaders to schedule accurate and safe treatments for the patient and ensure the optimal patient experience.

The Infusion Scheduler communicates with patients continuously with appointment updates. They will answer incoming patient calls to schedule appointments and answer any non-clinical/ medical patient questions or triage to the appropriate staff member. They may also make outgoing phone calls to schedule subsequent infusions and remind patients of upcoming infusions.

The Infusion Scheduler is responsible for the creation of Hospital Account Records (HARs) and ensuring patient registration, demographics, and insurance information is accurate and continually updated and verified. This position is also responsible for understanding authorization requirements and referral management. The Infusion Scheduler will help direct patients to the appropriate clinical setting and facilitates patient flow. May provide additional coverage as needed in all areas, including Infusion Services Call Center and check-in support as well as a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of daily patient services within all clinical areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience working in a large healthcare organization.
  • Prior scheduling experience.
  • Experience with patient check-in/check-out and cash handling.
  • Demonstrated experience with insurances, authorizations, and referrals.
  • EMR trained. Epic experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Infusion scheduling experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of oncology.
  • Epic experience.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Position will be expected to float to multiple locations based on department staffing needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $53,077 - $65,960 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $25.42 - $31.59

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
