The 2017 SBI/ACR Breast Imaging Symposium is the largest dedicated breast imaging conference in the world. The meeting consists of a plenary session, panel discussions and focused single topic refresher courses that cover a wide variety of topics. The course is designed for radiologists, technologists and medical physicists involved in breast imaging, and hosts an exhibit hall with the latest technology. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear new and original research being presented at one of several scientific sessions offered throughout the meeting.

NEW in 2017!

Refresher Course Recordings

You spoke, we listened! Since you can’t be in six places at once, we are offering access to recordings of all the concurrent afternoon refresher courses. Audio recordings will be synched with presenters’ slides so you can easily follow along with the sessions you couldn’t attend in person. Attendees who choose this option will receive access in the conference app automatically when the recordings are made available approximately 6-8 weeks after the Symposium.

Simply select the “Recordings” option when registering online for the Symposium.

*Additional fee applies; no CME credit for viewing recordings

Pre-Conference DBT Workshop

April 5, 2017

Earn eight hours of initial training in Digital Breast Tomosyntheysis (DBT), including the unique features of the Hologic, GE, and Siemens DBT systems, as required by the FDA. Attendees will have the opportunity to review cases on individual DBT workstations. Expert faculty will be available during the case review time to provide guidance.

Simply select the “Pre-Conference DBT Workshop” option when registering online for the Symposium.

*Additional fee applies; limited to 50 attendees

Objectives

  1. Explain the current science and recommendations regarding use of screening mammography.
  2. Analyze other imaging methods increasingly used for breast cancer screening, including digital breast tomosynthesis as an alternative to conventional full field digital mammography, plus breast ultrasound, breast MRI and molecular breast imaging as supplements to mammography.
  3. Discuss the current pathology perspective on the biology of high risk lesions and of breast cancers.
  4. Describe the current and evolving surgical and systemic treatment strategies for breast cancers.
  5. Apply knowledge on a wide variety of breast imaging topics. Molecular breast imaging, radioactive seed localization, challenging cases, performance benchmarks, accreditation and economics will be included.
