The ULNA Concept HISTORY BEHIND THE ULNA HANDLE The door handle is one of the main vectors of contamination and propagation of germs. In view of this fact, Ulna created a handle answering not only to these problems, but also those of ergonomics and accessibility, according to the Law on Disabled Persons 2005. The Ulna system was studied and developed over a period of 3 years at the SMIT of CHI of Saint-Germain- en-Laye with the invaluable help of Doctors Jean-Christophe SEGUIER, Yves WELKER and their teams. The Ulna brand, its designs, its fastening systems and its variations are protected by international patents, the property of SAMA Monaco, just like the moulds and tools used for its manufacture. ULNA : ANANATOMICAL DESIGNATION The ulna is one of the two bones of the forearm with the radius. However, Ulna remains more well-known under the name of ‘cubitus’ (in French), a term always used in the current vocabulary. It is a long bone occupying the medial part of the forearm and playing a fundamental role in its rotation movements and those of the hand.
