Our iv fluid warmers are built in the USA at our plant by skilled craftsmen dedicated to the highest levels of quality assurance and a "pride in the craft."We have thousands of units in operation in the USA, Canada, Europe & throughout the world. Our customers include ground ambulances (services and manufacturers), air ambulances, fire & rescue services, hospitals, clinics, government agencies and military operations. Our equipment had been deployed globally and has established an excellent reputation for quality, reliability, safety and service.After attending Fire Science course work at Portland Community College in Oregon, Douglas volunteered at Missoula RFPD in Montana, became a "Reserve Firefighter" at Lewiston Fire Dept in Idaho and received his 1st full time offer as a firefighter in Clarkston, Washington where he retired in April of 2006. During his career as a firefighter paramedic, he noted that nothing was being done to effectively warm iv fluids in the pre-hospital arena. "Well, I'll change that," he vowed and set off to build iv fluid warmers for fire & ambulance services."It's quite a struggle to take an idea through design, prototyping, testing, FDA clearances and to market," recalls Doug. "If you knew what it would cost up front, you would do something else!" Smithworks is dedicated to building the finest equipment possible. Subassemblies are sourced domestically wherever possible.
