SpermCheck ContraVac, Inc. (doing business as SpermCheck®), is a Virginia corporation developing diagnostic and therapeutic products for male reproductive health. SpermCheck® was formed to commercialize technology resulting from research in male reproductive biology at the Center for Research in Contraceptive and Reproductive Health at the University of Virginia. The Company has developed SpermCheck®, point-of-care immunodiagnostic sperm tests, for testing male fertility at home that includes the following products and brands: SpermCheck® Fertility, SpermCheck® Vasectomy and SpermCheck® Fertility Plus. SpermCheck® Fertility and SpermCheck® Vasectomy are FDA approved and CE Mark for sale in the US and Europe. SpermCheck® Fertility Plus is a second generation product already developed that will be released in the future. Currently, SpermCheck® Fertility is sold in US retail stores including Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Target and Meijer and online at www.SpermCheck.com. SpermCheck® Vasectomy is currently promoted to urologist offices and sold online at www.SpermCheck.com. SpermCheck® products are proprietary antibody-based immunodiagnostic assays for detecting human sperm, similar in principle and format to home pregnancy tests. The family of SpermCheck® products has been developed to meet the unmet need of men who desire to assess their fertility status in the privacy and convenience of their home. SpermCheck® devices are marketed to vasectomized men and couples planning to or currently attempting to conceive.
