Seritex was founded in 1986 by Bill Kattermann as a silk yarn trading company, drawing upon his more than thirty years' experience in various textile businesses including knitting, weaving, dyeing and finishing. Also included in the Seritex operation is the exclusive North American distribution of medical and anthropological measuring instruments produced by Holtain Ltd. in the UK and GPM of Switzerland.As the yarn market evolved, Seritex became more involved with representation of yarn producers for knits as well as specialty yarns for weaving. Carefully selecting premier spinners from Italy, Switzerland, Peru and China, Seritex now offers a full range of classical and fancy yarns, emphasizing, but not limited to, natural and precious fibers.
