In February 2011, Linsalata Capital Partners (LinCap), a Cleveland-based private equity firm, acquired NeuroTherm, Inc. from New York-based firm Cortec Group. NeuroTherm was formed in September 2005, as a concurrent acquisition of RDG Medical in the U.K., and RF Medical and Precision Medical Engineering (PME) in the U.S. by Cortec Group Fund III, L.P., an affiliate of Cortec Group, Inc. This merger brought together the worldwide known NeuroTherm brand name for generators with the U.S. leading disposables product line from PME. RDG Medical had formed to sell pain managements products to the United Kingdom and European markets.
