Forerun is a privately-held company founded in early 2006 based on core software technology developed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), a tertiary care hospital affiliate of Harvard Medical School.The flagship Forerun ED™ system was developed over a period of seven years by an interdisciplinary team of emergency physicians and healthcare information technology specialists at BIDMC, including John Halamka, M.D. (Chief Information Officer of BIDMC and Harvard Medical School and a Board Certified Emergency Physician), Larry Nathanson, M.D., (Director of Emergency Medical Informatics at BIDMC and a Board Certified Emergency Physician), and Richard Wolfe, M.D. (Chief of Emergency Medicine at BIDMC).
