Criticom Communications was founded in 1990 with a focus on delivering innvoative video communications technology and services to the U.S. Federal government. The company was the first to deliver an integrated, purpose-built, solution to empower the U.S. Department of Defense to use video teleconferencing systems for secure communications by seamlessly switching video codecs between non-secure/secure classification networks. The company was granted two U.S. Patents for solving this problem for the U.S. government.In 2007, Criticom Communications was acquired by Ultra Electronics, a group of specialist businesses designing, manufacturing and supporting electronic and electromechanical systems, subsystems and products for international defense and aerospace markets. The combined strength of Ultra's broad understanding of military requirements coupled with Criticom's unique expertise and innovative approach has resulted in the ability to offer new innovative communication solutions for our customers.
