About us In order to respond to economic structural change and market globalization, the central Italian region of Umbria's government and medical industry have begun to consider new business models. New policies have helped push structural long-term business partnerships which share expertise, skills, technology and new opportunities. Hence, with the endorsement of local administration (through Umbria Trade Agency) and promotion by Confindustria (Italy's leading association of entrepreneurs), an association of highly specialized companies was formed: the Biomedical Science and Technology Cluster of Umbria. As a whole, the Cluster offers integrated products and services throughout the whole biomedical supply chain, accounts for a global annual turnover of Euro 200 million and employs some 2.000 staff. Together, the Cluster's production, professional, technological and service skills offer highly complementary business solutions which can cater to the detailed, complex market requirements of the biomedical industry of both the private and public sector at national and international levels.
