What are your key areas of interest and research?

I am fascinated with pathophysiology in general. As an illustrator, I enjoy the opportunity to express my creativity and explore how the human body works. I feel lucky to be a PA in the field of internal medicine, where I get to help patients with a wide spectrum of issues. It’s very rewarding to take the time to explain why certain things are happening in a patient’s disease process.  I’ve found that they appreciate understanding what the ramifications of their illness could be, rather than just stating the facts. I constantly challenge myself to explore the why of medicine in new and interesting ways.
