Mallinckrodt, a leading manufacturer of contrast media and injectors, and Ziehm Imaging, innovation leader in mobile C-arms, have announced the introduction of
an intelligent interface for the Mallinckrodt AngiomatTM IllumenaTM
injector and Ziehm Imaging’s C-arms for vascular applications.

The Angiomat Illumena injector supports cardiovascular, angiography and computed tomography applications and can be controlled via SmartVascular, Ziehm Imaging’s dedicated vascular software package. The imaging function and injector can be operated with a foot pedal, allowing for control of the contrast injection dose and time.

Especially in the field of vascular surgery, mobile imaging has rapidly gained importance over the last several years. Dr.Ioannis Rafailidis, chief physician at Klinikum St. Marien, Amberg, Germany, uses the Ziehm Vision RFD for minimally invasive interventions. He describes one of the major advantages of the Ziehm C-arms:
"High-resolution diagnostic images of vessels are available at any time
during the intervention.”

Considering the growing demand for mobile C-arms in vascular surgery, Klaus Hörndler, Managing Director and Vice President Global R&D, Ziehm Imaging, is very pleased to announce this new collaboration.” Mallinckrodt is the ideal company to further extend our portfolio in the vascular surgery segment. The new intelligent interface between C-arm and injector offers clinical users a solution that is intuitive in use.”
