Samsung has a strong presence at RSNA 2013, demonstrating its commitment to global healthcare with a portfolio of CT, Ultrasound and Digital Radiography products on show. With its expertise in user-friendly well-designed consumer electronics, Samsung believes it has a lot to bring to the healthcare market.

Doug Kim of Samsung says, "We aim to bring innovation and new experiences to both doctors and patients, integrating Samsung's IT expertise and innovation in usability, mobility, ergonomics, user convenience and display technology." He added, "Our technologies enable accurate easy and fast diagnosis."

Samsung is showing an expanded range of Ultrasound systems, including the Accuvix A30 advanced utrasound system, the compact UGEO H60, the SonoAceR7, the hand-held UGEO PT60A and the UGEO HM70A.

Samsung is also expanding into other modalities, with its acquisition of Neurologica, the portable CT scanner manufacturer. Neurologica is presenting its mobile CT solutions, including the 32-slice BodyTom and the small bore CereTom and the inSPira HD SPECT. For hospitals, CT imaging can now be brought to the patient in key clinical departments such as the ICU, operating theatre or the ER.

Recently cleared for sale in the U.S., the XGEOGC80 digital radiography system utilises robotic technology to enable smooth, fast and intuitive operation. Softly touch the controls with the fingers, and it glides into position. In 2014 Samsung is launching a new detector to provide enhanced image quality in low dose conditions for the XGEO GC80 and GU60A.
