Simo Pykälistö, currently CFO and Executive Vice President of Sectra AB (STO: SECT B), has been appointed President of Sectra’s Secure Communications business area. Simo Pykälistö grew up in Finland, was educated in the US and subsequently moved to Sweden.
Simo Pykälistö is 43 years old and holds a degree in finance from the United States International University (USIU) in San Diego, USA. Mr. Pykälistö has worked at Sectra since 2003. In recent years, he has been involved in business development for Secure Communications and has amassed knowledge in the security field by participating in the business area’s international expansion and acquisition of the Finnish security consultancy company EXP Analytics Oy. Simo Pykälistö assumed his new position on April 1, 2016. He will retain his role as Executive Vice President of Sectra AB, but will step down from his position as CFO when a successor has been appointed.
“With his keen business sense, leadership qualities and understanding of the sector, Simo has the right prerequisites to drive the business area’s growth program, where our focus is on broadening the business area’s offering to new customer segments, primarily critical infrastructure,” says Torbjörn Kronander, President and CEO of Sectra AB.
Sectra’s Secure Communications business area offers products and services that are used to protect the most sensitive and confidential information handled by authorities and defense organizations in Europe. Being trusted to protect a nation’s most sensitive information requires a high degree of confidence in the provider. With this confidence and the expertise Sectra has in the area of IT security and encryption, the business area is concentrating on growth in new customer segments. The principal area of focus is critical infrastructure, where Sectra recently launched monitoring and security analysis services for businesses in the energy sector.
