Dear colleagues, Dear partners and friends,

The Francophone Days of Radiology will take place from October 13 to 16, 2023 at the Palais des Congrès de la Porte Maillot. It is a great responsibility and an immense honor for me to chair them. The success of our annual congress coincided last year with a clearly expressed desire to return to an essentially face-to-face event. Our 71st edition of the JFR will therefore be another unique opportunity for meetings, sharing and exchanges. Our remote offer (JFR plus, JFR 365) supported by the SFR is developing, it is an essential means of communication and allows us to better prepare for this annual meeting which is so important for our profession.

The last few years have been marked by the development of new concepts around big data in health. We can summarize them with these terms: volume, variety and velocity. Ever-increasing amounts of data, particularly in imaging. Very varied data, structured or not, which today cover many real-life data collected in everyday care practice. Finally, speed because these data are now potentially available in real time, integrated into the diagnostic discussion, due to their dematerialization and the development of artificial intelligence. The latter will accelerate the provision of relevant data to improve prediction and decision-making. For these reasons, we wanted the focus of JFR 2023 to be "integrated diagnosis, radiology beyond the image”. This theme anticipates a major shift in the practice of our profession towards precision, personalized and predictive medicine. Many multidisciplinary sessions bringing together, beyond radiology, specialists in biology, genomics, nuclear medicine or anatomo-pathology around themes such as oncology or chronic diseases will illustrate this focus.

Many other themes illustrating the reflections undertaken by our specialty beyond the interpretation of radiological images will be addressed: The diagnostic imaging consultation charter published last spring by the national professional council details benevolent practices during radiological examinations in particular those preserving modesty and respecting the consent of our patients. Artificial intelligence and the recent recommendations of the National Consultative Ethics Committee (CCNE) on the ethical issues of its use in the field of medical diagnosis are a major step in the implementation of the human guarantee in the use of artificial intelligence. Well-being at work and the balance between professional life and personal life have become a crucial theme in the post-pandemic era and the lack of attractiveness of the care professions is a challenge that we must take up without delay. . The financialization of radiology in its liberal mode of practice is a major subject Edito Marc Zins JFR 2023et could significantly change the practice of our discipline. Cardiac imaging will be highlighted. This is a major source of technical innovation and the focus will be on the development in cardiac pathology of photon counting scanners or MRIs with 4D flow sequences. The issue of sobriety and eco-responsibility in radiology is very topical and the white paper which was devoted to it last year draws up an inventory and proposals for action.

My personal credo has always been a taste for training and transmission. Thus, these radiology days will be centered again and again on our young people. These junior practitioners will find a unique set of theoretical and practical training resources that have no equivalent.

The face-to-face congress will offer more than 200 educational or scientific sessions distributed in all the usual conference rooms but also in a new room with an original concept which will be the surprise of the JFRs this year! It will of course and always be a place of interaction around the Village of Interventional Radiology, the Village of Ultrasounds and the Village of Innovations, supported by the Artificial Intelligence Forum.

The technical exhibition, the highlight of the congress, will allow exchanges around future equipment, materials, diagnostic and therapeutic agents and innovative digital solutions.

The two foreign countries in the spotlight will be Italy and Argentina with several prestigious guests and talks on the themes of the congress. Many countries with which the SFR has special agreements will be present during these days, such as Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Egypt, the United States, Iran, Japan, Korea, Mexico and Uruguay.

This year, a large and beautiful region will be in the spotlight: Hauts de France.

We do not forget the Rugby World Cup. Let the fans be reassured, the quarter-finals will be visible in excellent conditions from inside the convention center! We will be able to meet even more this year. We need to share and move forward together to take care of everyone. Let's be confident. See you soon at the JFR!
