International Emergency Department Leadership Institute (IEDLI) Conference 2022

The International Emergency Department Leadership Institute (IEDLI) program provides emergency department leaders with the skills and knowledge they need to operate successful emergency departments in any part of the world.

This program was created by Harvard Medical School faculty and other international experts. Through interactive lectures and workshops, IEDLI courses will change the way you think about the problems facing your ED. IEDLI courses are designed for physicians, nurses and administrators.

The 2022 IEDLI Program will be held from October 10-16, 2022 in Berlin, Germany. This year’s courses include:

• Leadership Essentials: This course explores leadership topics that offer solutions to the challenges for emergency care today. Participants will learn to improve efficiency and control costs, decrease overcrowding, form a strong administrative structure, develop quality improvement programs, and more.
• Certified Emergency Department Executive (CEDE) Certification: This course prepares participants to face the problems that arise in running an emergency department. Participants work in groups to develop and present a solution to an ED challenge.
• Continuing Executive Education: In this course, ED leaders engage with international peers in interactive seminars and workshops regarding cutting-edge topics in ED leadership and management. The sessions are led by internationally recognized experts, and the topics change every year to address the most pressing concerns ED leaders are facing.
• ED Design: This course explores how design meets process to create successful, well-run emergency departments. Active discussions are held amongst medical, administrative, and architectural professionals about designs that promote engagement with the patient, patient safety and comfort, and a high degree of efficiency.
