At the upcoming 11th European Multidisciplinary Congress on Urological Cancers (EMUC19), experts from across and beyond Europe will examine the best practices and challenges in managing genitourinary (GU) malignancies. This leading congress in GU cancers for European medical specialists is set to take place from 14 to 17 November 2019 in historic Vienna, a first for the Austrian capital.
EMUC19 is a frontline congress that will identify optimal therapies and address gaps in clinical practices in onco-urology. This congress is designed to encourage relevant discussions on innovative treatment, the limits of standard therapies, and the impact of new research outcomes. Its reputation as prime European platform for professional and scientific exchanges in GU oncology has been well-established throughout the years.
The congress brings together esteemed specialists and healthcare professionals from various disciplines, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the European SocieTy for Radiotherapy & Oncology (ESTRO) and the European Association of Urology (EAU).
Skills training for urologists, radiologists, pathologists and related healthcare professionals are always part of the EMUC Scientific Programme. Dedicated mentors, tutors and key opinion leaders will offer their expertise during the Hands-on Training sessions and specialised courses organised by the European School of Urology (ESU) at EMUC19.
EMUC19 is preceded by the 8th EAU Section of Urological Imaging meeting (ESUI19), the meeting that aims to identify which contemporary imaging methods are beneficial to which situation; and what kind of standardisation of reporting of different urological cancers are to be expected.
Other notable meetings that will be parallel to EMUC19 include meetings of the Young Academic Urologists (YAU) and the EAU Section of Uropathology (ESUP). YAU’s goals and activities centre on the development of the scientific and leadership skills of young urologists. While ESUP examines and promotes clinicopathological topics and the elaboration of minimal standards for uropathological diagnostics. An other course that will take place is the Uropathology course, and also the FALCON contouring workshop will return, aimed at junior and experienced clinical or radiation oncologists wanting to improve their contouring skills or more senior specialists wanting to refresh and validate their knowledge and skills in this field.
The congress is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists) to provide CME activity for medical specialists.
Come join us and be in the forefront of medical discoveries as EMUC19 casts a critical look at controversial issues and evaluate the insights in clinical practice concerning GU cancers.
We look forward to your participation in Vienna in 2019!
