We are delighted to announce that Dr Simon Jackson has been appointed as the incoming Editor-in-Chief (Medical) for BJR. He joins Professor Kevin Prise, Editor-in-Chief (Scientific) to further facilitate the development of the journal as a key resource for the radiological scientific community.



Dr Jackson has accrued his editorial experience for BJR acting as a Senior Editor since 2010 after completing a number of years as an Associate Editor and reviewer. He has worked for the past 18 years as a consultant radiologist at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, specialising in both diagnostic and interventional gastrointestinal radiology including endoscopy. His research interests are focused on multimodality imaging applications in GI oncology and he lectures widely on aspects of hepatopancreaticobiliary and GI tract radiology.



Professor Prise is based at Queen’s University Belfast, in the Centre for Cancer Research & Cell Biology within the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, working on translational radiobiology research. His has varied research interests covering radiation risk, the application of novel radiation modalities, advanced radiotherapy models and drug radiation combinations.
