The 2015 winners of the Arab Health Innovation & Achievement Awards were announced last night at a gala ceremony at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre. Now in their eighth year, the awards honour the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations from the healthcare industry in the Middle East.

The Awards were celebrated during the Arab Health Exhibition & Congress 2015, the largest healthcare event in the region, which runs until Thursday 29 January.
Seven awards were presented in total to highlight the region’s continued growth and achievements in the healthcare field with the UAE taking home awards for both Excellence in Surgery Services and Cleveland Clinic Young Clinician.

The judging panel was made up of internationally recognised professionals from a broad range of related sectors and disciplines. The judges included Dr Ashraf Ismail, Joint Commission International Middle East; Dr Fadi El-Jardali, Accreditation Canada International; Jan Schmitz-Huebsch, Munich Health Daman Holding; Dr Jeffrey Lerner, ECRI Institute and Dr Matthew Walsh, Cleveland Clinic.

According to Dina Abdelmannan, who won the Cleveland Clinic Young Clinician award last night: “I feel delighted and thrilled; it is such a privilege to win a prestigious award from a great institution, it gives me more courage to keep doing what I am doing. The name of the also solidifies my ties to the city of Cleveland where I did my specialty training and where I worked before returning to Dubai.”

In its landmark 40th year, Arab Health runs until the end of this week and is host to 40 country pavilions, including the introduction of Bahrain, Indonesia, and Thailand. The event features brings together 4,000 exhibitors together to showcase their latest products to an estimated 120,000 attendees.
