Our new Split-top Overbed Table features a state-of-the-art mechanism to allow a secondary top to slide out from either side of the table silently and effortlessly. In fact, this lower top can be activated using only one hand, by simply activating one of the conveniently located tabs (see image below). When the split top is activated, the upper table slides forward or backward, prompting the lower table to move into the opposite position.This creates more user friendly space for both the patient and caregiver. The top is a 1 thick thermoformed top with a recessed surface for spill containment, while the lower top is an HPL surface edged with 3 mm PVC edging. Upper top measure 18 x 32 and the lower top 17.5 x 26.5. This split-top overbed table features a reliable gas cylinder lift mechanism, which allows for infinite height adjustment between 29.5" and 44.5" and enables the table to be raised without requiring the handle to be activated. 2" oversized dual wheel casters provide easy maneuverability from under the bed, around the room, and over thresholds. The heavy duty powder coated column and base is available in either an "H" or "U" design and the column can be mounted on either the left or right side for added versatility.
