Novalung kits are pump-driven medical devices that enable the extracorporeal blood gas exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen by diffusion across a gas-permeable and plasma-tight polymethylpentene (PMP) membrane, as well as temperature control of blood by a heat exchanger compartment.
Novalung kits have integrated pressure sensors (IPS) which are used to monitor the blood pressure inside the extracorporeal circuit.
