The process of transporting products to and from a sterilization chamber is a complicated process. A rack of liquid product can weigh quite a bit, usually more than 2,200 lbs (1000 kg). On top of that, they are potentially unsafe to handle. For this reason, Getinge recommends using an automated load handling system rather than handling the materials manually. With their partner, FlexLink, they can provide conveyor systems to help with the process. These systems are designed to combine the GMP product environment with heavy industrial manipulation. The automated systems integrate with the sterilizer and circulate the racks where the liquids are stored.
