The Varian Exact Treatment Couch is combined with Indexed Immobilization to simplify patient positioning while improving treatment accuracy which enables staff to be more available to their patients. It features movable side rails which eliminate the need for patients to be repositioned or for the couch top to be moved. The carbon fiber couch top reduces radiation attenuation and in doing so enables a higher image quality and lower surface dose. Patient set-up times are minimized and repeatable patient immobilization is achieved due to Indexed Immobilization, which is a Varian patented patient-positioning system. It benefits from a smooth motorized control of lateral, vertical, longitudinal and angular positions.
