MAYFIELD® Adult Horseshoe Headrest characterized by horse-shoe shape provides cranial support in supine or prone position, usually for adults and older children. The lateral and vertical adjustments permit adequate flexibility at the time of positioning patients. Adjustable pad base incorporated by the device accommodates different head sizes, while the fluid resistant gel pads offer enhanced comfort and minimize the occurrence of pressure necrosis. This easy to clean product is fitted with Pulley Rod attachment to facilitate skeletal traction. Individuals must be cautious and sure if the 2 sets sunburst teeth have meshed accurately, while tightening the knob; if the same is not ensured it may lead to damage of the machine. This caution is applicable for any such fitting belonging to the MAYFIELD® System. In addition to this, the face-plates, fitted in the system should not be immersed or exposed to heat or steam sterilized, because excessive heat may damage the plastic components. After each use MAYFIELD Horseshoe Headrest must be thoroughly cleaned. To prevent damage, Gel Pads should not be pulled away from Faceplate arms.
