When a sample contains many compounds like the petroleum products and the fragrance products, the separation and count of some of the compounds become very challenging. Multi-Dimensional GC (MDGC) is equipped with the columns which has different separation features to make the separation of the specific target components from a pool of complex matrices. The Multi-Dimensional GC/GCMS System is capable of providing a high resolution analysis with help of its two columns that separates the components. This is not achievable with a traditional single column. The components inadequately isolated while passing through the first column (1st column) are introduced the "heart-cut" into a second column of a different type (2nd column) to disjoint their analytes.
