GORE® PRECLUDE® Vessel Guard Patients having undergone anterior spinal reconstruction for degenerative disc disease face the risk of potential vessel damage during a revision surgery. In these procedures, revising, repositioning or removing a disc prostheses is complicated by scarring around the aorta, the vena cava and the iliac vessels. GORE® PRECLUDE® Vessel Guard is indicated as a cover for vessels following anterior vertebral surgery. The biomaterial reduces the risk of vascular injury by providing a permanent and visible plane of dissection to facilitate reoperation. It features a tight ePTFE microstructure that prevents penetration by fibroblasts, thus minimizing vascular attachment to the device and allowing safer anterior revision. An elastomeric inner layer minimizes impingement and provides the stiffness needed for accurate placement.
