The Laryngeal Adhesive Electrode from inomed provides an alternative method for monitoring the recurrent nerve. The Laryngeal Adhesive Electrode is directly attached on the ventilation tube. The recording provided is reliable, safe and scarcely invasive intraoperative monitoring method. Using the Laryngeal Adhesive Electrode the EMG activity of the vocal muscle can be monitored continuously without placing an additional needle electrode. The laryngeal electrode along with neutral adhesive electrode are available as single use product in two sizes for tubes of 6 – 7 mm inner diameter with an adhesive surface of 32 mm length or 29 mm width and for tubes of 7.5 – 9 mm inner diameter with an adhesive surface of 32 mm length or 37 mm width. Special applicators for the lower cranial nerves are provided, these applicators help to place the hooked wire electrodes or vocalis electrodes in the throat or in the vocalis muscle.
