EUROSCREW TCP is made of 70% polylactide (PLA) and 30% ?-tricalcium phosphate (TCP). The two phases are blended by a chemical reaction using a proprietary Teknimed process, which provides uniform distribution of TCP particles within the PLA matrix, without the risk of clumping that results in premature breaking of the screw. This composite obeys controlled degradation kinetics. EUROSCREW TCP is stable for 6 months post-operatively, ensuring good healing and simplifying any future revision. It is gradually bio-absorbed by the bone cells and becomes totally replaced by healthy bone after 24 months. The drive for EUROSCREW TCP screws has been designed to reduce the risks of breaking the screw by better distribution of the screwing torque. EUROSCREW TCP is totally spanned by a conical hexagonal form. The conical shape ensures perfect contact between the screwdriver and the screw.
