The Esco Cytoculture Lead-Shielded Class II Biosafety Cabinet is for use within the radiopharmaceutical industry. It protects the operator during work with radioisotopes. Superior protection is achieved by way of 3 mm lead-shielded sides, a lad-shielded work zone bottom and front sliding sash. It includes radiation proof glass with a lead equivalence of 3 mm. For extra safety, the cabinet air is filtered via two exhaust filters, enabling filter-changing to occur without prior decontamination of the cabinet. The carbon filter is impregnated with potassium iodide for iodine absorption. The cabinet is coated with an isocide antimicrobial which eliminates 99.9% of the bacterial presence on the external surfaces within 24 hours.
