Therapy Cool Flex ablation catheter is first of its kind. Its adjustable electrode tip is designed to decrease the force transmitted by the operator into the tissue and provide cooling. The tip of this ablation catheter is designed in a way so as to contract and confirm to the heart tissue and thus promote the transfer of RF energy into the tissue. Its cooling performance is exceptionally good. The 4 ports on the tip of the device facilitate cooling when it is aligned perpendicularly. And when the tip flexes it opens up towards the other side thereby channelizing 70% of the flow of irrigation towards the point of contact of tip and tissue. Owing to its flexible tip, the temperature here is approximately 50 less as compared to other rigid tip catheter. Furthermore the surface area of contact established by the tip is more in this device than any other of its counterparts.
