Item # 534HS (Two Steps, 20cm High) Item # 534HS10 (One Step, 10cm High) Weight tested to 450kg The Bed Step, Item 534HS is designed to help patients get into and out of bed, when the bed will not go down low enough. This may be due to the design of the bed, particularly if an overlay pressure mattress is fitted to the bed. Depending on the Bed Step Item ordered, the patient may be 10cm or 20cm taller by using a Bed Step. When they sit on the bed, their bottom may go nearer to the middle of the bed, making it easier for them to lie down closer to the middle of the bed. The Bed Steps have wipeable medical grade, heat sealed vinyl covers. They have Non-Slip Material on the bottom to help prevent them from moving. To Use: The Bed Step (Item 534HS) is placed along side the bed, so that when the patient is standing facing the head of the bed, they can step onto the first Step possibly having a hand on the mattress to steady themselves. Ensure their heel is in front of the marked line. The Steps are large enough to have two feet on them. They can shuffle forward and mount the second step, then they can do a quarter turn so their bottom will be positioned to sit on the side of the bed. The Bed Step can also be used for getting ON or OFF ambulance trolleys. The Bed Step Item #534HS10 is 10cm high. The decision to use the 10cm or the 20cm Bed Step will depend on the height of the bed, so long as the patient?s bottom will be safely near the middle of the bed.
