Senior Engineer (m/f/d) Robotic System Simulation - near Munich

Description

Careers that Change Lives

You will join a world class team of mechanical, electrical and software engineers responsible for further development and enhancement of the globally launched Robotic Assisted Surgery platform: https://www.medtronic.com/covidien/en-us/robotic-assisted-surgery/hugo-ras-system.html

Impact patient outcomes.  Come for a job, stay for a career.

In the Surgical Robotics (SR) business, part of Medtronic’s Medical Surgical Portfolio, we believe patients around the world deserve access to quality care and improved outcomes. We strive to expand global access to care and reduce variability through robotic and analytics solutions.

SURGICAL INNOVATIONS set the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products and services.

A Day in the Life

As a Sr. Engineer Robotic System Simulation you will be a key contributor in the modeling and simulation team for the Hugo RAS system. You will develop simulations for defining future designs and for improving systems on the market. This includes implementing kinematic and dynamic models in simulation and validating the simulation with data gathered from experiments, manufacturing or verification testing. The role will involve supporting the robotic design, software development, manufacturing, verification testing and service.

Engineers create our market-leading portfolio of innovations. Combine the best of your experience with training and mentorship to move your career forward. If you want a challenging, energizing, rewarding career that changes lives, join us. Help us bring the next generation of life-changing medical technology to patients worldwide.

If you are a pioneer and would like to have a big impact into the new world of medical robotics – then come join our team!

You will:
•    Design, implement and maintain simulations for robotic systems and components
•    Simulate kinematics and dynamics of link structures, cables mechanism, motors, gear boxes and sensors
•    Explore new concepts in Simulation
•    Derive mathematical models aligned with the numerical simulation
•    Define experimental setups and execute experiments
•    Perform model verification and validation activities and compare simulation results with data gathered in the lab or in production
•    Work with internal stakeholders to identify use cases and specifications for simulations
•    Maintain and adapt a simulation platform to different use cases and hardware configurations
•    Evaluate simulation results and provide simulations to internal customers
•    Support definition of requirements, verification and manufacturing testing strategies
•    Work with project teams and align simulation development
•    Communicate findings, problems, and solutions to project teams and stakeholders
•    Prepare reports and presentations to communicate technical assessments and analysis results
•    Generate technical reports for submission to regulatory agencies
