Job Description:

The Pediatric Pulmonary Hyperplasia Program (PHP) at Primary Children’s Hospital is seeking an energetic and passionate individual for a part-time APP position. The APP is an integral provider and clinical leader in the multidisciplinary team beginning with diagnosis and long term follow up as the child grows and develops. The APP will be responsible for leading and specific components in patient care, research, and advocacy. This role will include management and continued development of the PHP Program and is an opportunity to develop and grow leadership skills. We are seeking an APP that is interested in leadership and management of complex chronic conditions in the pediatric patient.

Position Specific Duties:

  • The responsibilities include the assessment and ongoing care of children with pulmonary hypoplasia. The APP works closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians with primary responsibilities in the outpatient setting. Protocols for all aspects of patient care and management are followed.
  • This position include responsibilities for program oversight in coordination with the medical director, advocating and managing resources for patient care, and developing quality improvement outcomes.
  • This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other duties as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (NP), Delegation of Services Agreement (PA) (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate.

Part time, it is anticipated this APP will typically be scheduled 12 hours per week, during regular clinic hours.

Job Essentials

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:

  • Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;
  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;
  • Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;
  • Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;
  • Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;
  • Consultation with other healthcare providers;
  • Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;
  • Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.

Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).

Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.

Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.

BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Other Certification As Required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$52.97 - $81.74
