RCSI Hospitals Group was established in 2015 and comprises the following hospitals:

The Academic Partner for the Group is the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

 

The RCSI Hospitals Group serves populations in five counties – North Dublin, Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan.  A wide range of emergency, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services are provided across these, supported by a workforce of approximately 8,353 WTE staff.  Our aim is to provide high quality and safe care underpinned by the development of a single effective corporate and clinical governance structure.

OUR LADY OF LOURDES HOSPITAL, DROGHEDA

 

Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital is a model 3, 432 bedded Hospital, with 24/7, 365 emergency care and related services.  It is the main acute hospital in the North East region.  It is also a teaching hospital of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and affiliated to RCSI Hospitals.

 

The Hospital Services include Critical Care, Orthopaedic Trauma, Surgery, Medicine (wide range of specialties), Acute Stroke Unit, Cardiology, Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Paediatrics.  The Emergency Floor includes:

 

An Emergency Department (Resus, Majors, Minors, RAT), a Clinical Decision Unit, an accredited AMAU and an accredited ASAU, and a Paediatric Emergency Department.  The services include scheduled and unscheduled care activity and with inpatient acute services being primarily of unscheduled care origin. The hospital team deliver safe and timely access to our patients and community and perform highly in national unscheduled care and ED Key performance indicators.

 

BEAUMONT HOSPITAL

 

Beaumont Hospital, incorporating St. Joseph’s Raheny, is a large academic teaching hospital 5km north of Dublin City centre. The Hospital provides emergency and acute care services across 54 medical specialties to a local community of some 290,000 people. In addition, Beaumont Hospital is a designated Cancer Centre and the regional treatment centre for Ear, Nose & Throat, and Gastroenterology, the national referral centre for Neurosurgery and Neurology, Renal Transplantation, the National Poisons Information Centre, Cochlear Implantation and Mechanical Thrombectomy.

 

Beaumont Hospital is the lead Level 4 hospital within the Royal College of Surgeons Hospital Group, which includes Connolly Hospital, Rotunda Hospital, Cavan / Monaghan Hospitals, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, with its academic partners The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland University of Medicine & Health Sciences and Dublin City University. 

 

Beaumont Hospital employs approximately 4,000 staff and has a combined bed complement of 1058 (IP.DC) beds. Beaumont Hospital is the principal teaching hospital for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Beaumont Hospital also enjoys close links with Dublin City University, especially in the area of nurse training, and with other academic institutions in respect of training and research.

 

The St. Joseph's Hospital Raheny site provides both medical and surgical inpatient care, day-care, outpatient, outpatient physiotherapy, radiology services, Care of the Elderly Rehabilitation and a 100 bedded Raheny Community Nursing Unit.

Consultant Dermatologist

 

This is an appointment to the RCSI Hospitals Group on a Type B basis under the Consultants’ Contract 2008 by the Health Service Executive with an initial commitment to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda for 36 hours per week and Beaumont Hospital for 3 hours per week.

 

Applicants must be registered in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of dermatology.
