The European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) is preparing to open its doors to nearly 1000 participants from across Europe at its annual congress taking place in Budapest next week.

This year’s meeting is organised in collaboration with the Hungarian Society of Radiology, Section of Breast Imaging, with active participation of Hungarian pathologists, breast surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists.

 

The highlights of this year’s Budapest meeting include:

 

  • Staging and follow up
  • Imaging in the role of breast cancer treatment
  • Risk assessment and imaging patients at risk
  • Abbreviated MRI, ultrafast and diffusion MRI
  • Novel developments (metabolic imaging, hyperpolarized MRI, mammi-PET and AI) Mammography and tomosynthesis
  • Update in ultrasound

 

Of course, there will be a lot of lectures and workshops and the keynote lecture is about AI – an area which is having a huge impact on Imaging,” congress organiser EUSOBI Past President and Local Congress Organiser, Prof. Gábor Forraitold HealthManagement.org.

In addition to clinical presentations, general management and teamwork will be in focus in Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) sessions that Forrai will moderate.


“We will discuss some very interesting and challenging cases - especially those that arise during routine daily work. We have collected and will discuss significant cases covering pathological, oncological and surgical interests and specialities.”


In an effort to extend bonds with other societies around the world, this year EUSOBI will meet with Australian breast radiologists.
“Cross-border networking amongst breast radiologists is beneficial for insights into colleagues’ challenges and solutions,” said Forrai.


Continued support for young breast radiologist will feature at the event in the
EUSOBI Young Club Symposium, where young radiologists can interact with and ask experts about different professional issues.


Delegates will have the opportunity to network during a social programme that includes a concert of Hungarian music at the opening event and a networking boat trip on the Danube.

EUSOBI takes place in Budapest, Hungary from October 3 – 5.
