Rather than minimising these worries, Cedars-Sinai welcomed them. Clinicians were included from the beginning, helping to co-design the platform with a strong emphasis on safety and user experience. Beta testers included both clinicians in leadership roles and everyday patients, ensuring that all voices were heard. This early and inclusive engagement helped establish confidence in the system and addressed concerns in a constructive way. Trust was built not through persuasion, but through meaningful involvement in the process. This approach ensured that the platform was not only functional but also embraced by those who would use it. 

 

Understanding Individual Readiness and Problem Clarity 
Even within organisations that are officially supportive of AI adoption, individual responses can vary significantly. At Tampa General, where multiple generative AI applications had already been rolled out, an insurance denial automation tool brought mixed reactions. While the technology led to an immediate 20% increase in team productivity and eventually automated 80% of the work, one team member experienced a drop in performance. Upon closer examination, it became clear that the employee feared the implications of automation on job security. This example underlines the difference between organisational readiness and individual readiness. Successful AI adoption requires that both be addressed.
