Shimadzu will launch its latest product, the Sonialvision G4 R/F system, during ECR 2013.

Equipped with the largest available FPD at 43 x 43 cm and Shimadzu’s next generation digital imaging platform, the Sonialvision G4 covers the widest possible range of examinations, providing inter-departmental hospital capability. Combined with the large longitudinal stroke of Sonialvision, the FPD's provides an extensive imaging area.

Advanced “SUREengine” technology (Shimadzu Ultimate Real-time Enhancement Engine) contributes to creating excellent image quality. It enables the natural enhancement of the entire image for clearer revealing of all examination areas and small, faint targets.

Shimadzu’s premium application software offers the most recent improvements for diagnostic imaging. It supports useful applications, such as tomosynthesis for general radiographic imaging. The tomosynthesis function has also been highly acclaimed in the orthopaedic field. Medical staff are very interested in the further reduction of peripheral metal artifacts in tomosynthesis total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) images.

Processing time is minimal while image quality has been increased. Slot scanning is also very useful for long-length image examination in the orthopedic field. Slot scanning requires just the start and end positions to be set. Images can be checked immediately after radiography has been completed, thereby reducing examination time while improving efficiency.

As a new function, the grid is removable from the table, effective for a much lower dose required especially in paediatrics and gynaecology. The table's heavy-duty design supports a patient load of up to 318 kg in the horizontal position.
