The world's largest and most attended medical imaging congress, the 98th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) has officially begun. With a typical 60,000 plus attendee level, the congress will include more than 5,000 scientific research presentations, and education exhibits covering the latest developments in radiology and related imaging technologies dealing with diagnosis, intervention and therapy.

 

Some of this year's special focus session are based around new research in diabetes, ADHD, heart disease, breast cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Today's President's address, by Dr. Burton P. Drayer was entitled "Celebrate the Image - How we Changed the Face of Healthcare" and discussed the uncertain landscape of health care delivery reform while highlighting the revolutionary improvements in accuracy and patient safety. It encapsulates the traditional focus on innovation, patient care and technological advancements typically seen at the RSNA.
