Last December, the European Society of Radiology (ESR) announced that ESR will organise an online meeting on 2-6 March and an on-site meeting on 13-17 July due to uncertainty regarding evolving epidemiological situation presented by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2022’s theme is ‘Building Bridges’ to encourage collaboration between radiology stakeholders and the broader medical community.

The ECR online meeting (ECR Overture) features trailer sessions glimpsing some of the ECR 2022’s highlights. Some trailer sessions will examine best care practices in topics like acute pancreatitis, sports medicine, rectal cancer, and hepatocellular carcinomas. Some will examine the evolving role of radiologists and radiographers.

ESR President, Prof Dr Regina Beets-Tan explains: ‘These trailer sessions will be held alongside an exciting scientific and educational programme, a studio dedicated to interventional education and technology, and a small on-site element where leading figures in radiology and industry partners will give talks.’

In addition to industry symposia, Prof Regina Beets-Tan will interview several industry experts, including:

  • Rob Walton, President and CEO of GE Healthcare EMEA
  • David Hale, CEO of Guerbet & Sarah Catoen, Global Discovery Director of Guerbet
  • Toshio Takiguchi, President and CEO of Canon Medical Corporation
  • Vittorio Puppo, Chief Marketing Officer of Bracco
  • Masaharu Fukumoto, Senior Vice President, Head of European Medical, FUJIFILM Europe

This online event offers 26 CME credits for attendance. The opening ceremony begins Wednesday, 2 March, at 9:00 am CET.
