GE Unveils the World’s First High Definition Magnetic Resonance (HDMR) System

GE Healthcare has unveiled exclusive cardiac imaging techniques developed with the world’s first High Definition Magnetic Resonance (HDMR) system. The breakthrough cardiac applications were launched at the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) 8th Annual Scientific Sessions in San Francisco, California USA.

HDMR provides physicians with unprecedented image clarity of patients who are difficult to image due to movement, including Parkinson’s patients who suffer from uncontrollable patient motion and children who do not respond to sedation. In addition, HDMR is enabling physicians to consistently perform highly targeted studies of diabetic patients with lower blood flow to the lower legs.

GE’s 0.2T Signa® Profile™ System is Now Available with the Company’s Revolutionary EXCITE® Platform

GE Healthcare announced on 11 February 2005 at the Arab Health Exhibition and Congress in Dubai that the company’s 0.2T Signa® Profile™ system – the world’s best-selling open scanner – is now available with the company’s revolutionary EXCITE® platform.

GE EXCITE technology is the most significant advancement in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in more than 10 years. The new EXCITE® platform for the 0.2T Profile System will allow physicians to see more of the human anatomy and function better and faster than ever before, allowing them greater clinical confidence.
