The EUSOBI Young Club welcomes its new active members at the special young scientists’ session, where the Young Investigator Award will be handed over and the best submitted poster abstract will be presented.
This year, we celebrate 30 years of contrast-enhanced breast MRI (1986-2016) with the Gold Medal lecture by Prof. Sylvia Heywang-Köbrunner.

Hologic 3D™ Breast Biopsy: “End of 2D Era”
Hologic is offering 60-minute workshops demonstrating the first and only 3D™ Breast Biopsy procedure on both prone and upright systems. Prior to a demonstration of a phantom procedure, a brief lecture will provide an overview of clinical experiences with vacuum breast biopsy guided by 3D™ imaging.

Hologic is offering 60-minute workshops on the topic of low dose 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ using the unique C-View™ solution. A well-known radiologist and pioneer in the clinical use of 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ will lead this workshop giving a thorough overview of low dose 3D MAMMOGRAPHY™ using C-View™. The workshop will include a hands-on session using dedicated review workstations.

The EUSOBI Annual Scientific Meeting 2016 (September 23-24) has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) and is designated for a maximum of, or up to 12 European CME credits (ECMEC).

Regular Scientific Abstract
- Regular abstracts are structured 300 word abstracts that will, if accepted, be presented as a poster presentation at the Annual Scientific Meeting 2016.
- Regular abstract submission is open to all researchers in the field of breast imaging.
EUSOBI, and in particular the EUSOBI Young Club, aim to stimulate involvement of young doctors in the scientific field of breast imaging. Therefore, three specific initiatives are available for those who are venturing in this field at any step of their career:
The MD/Young Resident Initiative Grant
We offer former medical students who have performed a research project in breast imaging (e.g. graduation thesis, doctor thesis or similar) and have a sincere interest in breast imaging, the possibility to present their work at the EUSOBI Annual Scientific Meeting.
- Applicants should be below 30 years
- The thesis / research report should be provided as PDF-File
- The supervisor of the applicant should be an EUSOBI member in good standing
- A letter of support from your supervisor is mandatory
- If selected:
- You will present your research orally in the plenary lecture hall of the EUSOBI Annual Scientific Meeting
- EUSOBI will take over congress registration, and reimburse 2 hotel nights up to a maximum of € 500,-
The Young Physician-Scientist Grant
These grants aim to stimulate residents and young radiologists/nuclear medicine physicians to pursue a career in breast imaging research.
- Applicants should be below 36 years
- The applicant should be an EUSOBI member in good standing
- A letter of support from the head of department is mandatory
- If selected:
- You will present your research orally in the plenary lecture hall of the EUSOBI Annual Scientific Meeting
- EUSOBI will take over congress registration, and reimburse 2 hotel nights up to a maximum of € 500,-
The Carla Boetes Award
The Carla Boetes Award is EUSOBI’s means to honor young certified radiologists/nuclear medicine physicians who have made a large contribution to the breast imaging field.
- An extended abstract providing novel unpublished research results in the field of breast imaging is required
- Applicants should be below 40 years
- The applicant should be an EUSOBI member in good standing
- The abstract must be accompanied by your signed CV, that should include a complete publication list
- If selected:
- You will present your recent research orally in the plenary lecture hall of the EUSOBI.
- EUSOBI will take over congress registration, and award you with € 2000,-
