BIR/BSHNI Head and Neck Imaging Refresher Course 2027

The British Society of Head and Neck Imaging, in partnership with the British Institute of Radiology, is delighted to announce the twelfth Head and Neck Imaging Refresher Course, taking place on the 12th February 2027 in Cardiff.

This one-day course will focus on the imaging anatomy and pathology of the thyroid, parathyroid, supra and infrahyoid neck spaces, as well as neck lumps. 

The course programme puts great emphasis on interactive learning, with interactive case based workshops to complement the main lecture themes.

Delegates are invited to submit e-posters for which there are cash prizes, and reduced delegate rates for first authors of accepted submissions.

Who should attend?

This course is ideal for any medical/dental professional with an interest in head and neck imaging, including radiologists, non-radiologists, advanced healthcare practitioners and medical students. Speciality trainees and consultants are equally welcome.

Educational aims:

• Simplify the imaging anatomy in the supra and infrahyoid spaces of the neck, as well as the most commonly encountered pathologies.

• Highlight radiology ‘top tips’ when assessing the thyroid and parathyroid.

• To understand the various causes of neck lumps in adults and paediatric populations, with particular attention on the imaging of cervical lymph nodes.

• Demonstrate how to tailor thyroid and parathyroid imaging reports to aide pathological interpretation and surgical management
