Evidia has signed an agreement to acquire Teleconsult and Meditecs, marking a significant step in the group’s expansion as a pan-European tele-diagnostics provider.
The transaction strengthens Evidia’s position in radiology, teleradiology and digital diagnostic workflows by integrating its existing European imaging network with Teleconsult’s specialist reporting capabilities and Meditecs’ healthcare interoperability expertise.
Teleconsult is a European teleradiology provider serving hospitals, imaging clinics and healthcare organisations across Scandinavia, the Netherlands, the UK and wider international markets. Its model is built around sub-specialist radiology reporting, urgent and elective case coverage, reporting hubs and flexible cross-border radiologist capacity.
Meditecs adds a strategically important technology layer. Its work in healthcare systems integration, including DICOM, HL7, FHIR and middleware solutions, supports the movement of imaging data, clinical information and reports across complex hospital and diagnostic environments.
For Evidia, the acquisition follows its earlier purchase of 4ways, the UK-based teleradiology provider, and confirms a clear strategy: to move beyond physical imaging site ownership and build an integrated European diagnostics platform that combines scan acquisition, remote reporting, workflow integration and digital infrastructure.
The deal reflects broader market pressures in European imaging. Rising scan volumes, radiologist shortages, elective care backlogs and increasing demand for faster diagnostic turnaround are pushing providers towards scalable reporting models and technology-enabled workflow redesign.
The acquisition also sharpens the competitive landscape. Evidia is becoming a more focused imaging and tele-diagnostics consolidator, while larger groups such as Affidea continue to pursue broader outpatient healthcare strategies. Evidia’s model is narrower but potentially deeper in radiology infrastructure, teleradiology and specialist reporting capacity.
The transaction positions Evidia as one of the key European players to watch in imaging services consolidation, particularly as tele-diagnostics becomes more central to capacity management, access improvement and cross-border specialist care.
