The European Society of Radiology is proud to announce a landmark achievement, reaching an impressive 142,467 members globally in 2024. This record-breaking membership growth marks a 3.7% increase in comparison to 2023 reflecting the ESR’s ongoing dedication to providing innovative educational and professional opportunities tailored to radiologists’ evolving needs across the globe. The ESR’s expansive reach now covers 190 countries, reaffirming its role as a truly global society and a platform for diverse voices in radiological science.
The society attributes its exceptional growth to an array of initiatives and offerings that resonate with radiologists in an increasingly interconnected world. This includes a vast spectrum of online educational resources, cutting-edge virtual learning platforms, and collaborative opportunities that transcend geographic boundaries. The ESR’s efforts to ensure equitable access to education, research, and international collaboration continue to enhance professional development for radiologists at every career stage.
Reflecting on the milestone, Chair of the ESR Board of Directors Prof. Carlo Catalano stated: “Surpassing 140,000 members in 2024 is a powerful indicator of our profession’s strength and our commitment to fostering innovation, education, and international partnership. Our members are at the core of everything we do, and we are honoured to act as a key pillar of support in their critical contributions to patient care worldwide.”
Among the many benefits drawing new members to the ESR are discounted registration fees for the European Congress of Radiology (ECR), preferential rates for courses offered through the European School of Radiology (ESOR) and exclusive access to the ESR’s flagship journal European Radiology.
