Due to phenomenal demand we are repeating our sold out ‘New Ionising Radiation Regulations: What does it mean for me?’ event, this time in Manchester on 16 February 2018.

This upgraded event replaces our hugely popular annual IRMER Update. It has been designed to provide an invaluable multi-disciplinary forum in which to assess the impact of the new ionising radiation regulations (IRR17 and IRMER18) coming into force in February 2018. Hear the experts view on how the regulations should be applied in practice and learn how to best prepare yourself and your department for their arrival.

Educational aims:
  • To raise awareness of the implications of the new ionising radiation regulations (IRR17 and IRMER18)
  • To assist attendees in preparing for the impact of the regulations on local practice

Getting to the venue

The venue is conveniently located close to mainline stations, tram and bus links.

By Train
Manchester Piccadilly station (approx. 5 minutes walk) From the main platforms, follow the yellow ‘Way Out’ signs to Piccadilly. Once across the station concourse, follow the yellow ‘Way Out’ sign, Piccadilly Station Approach. Once outside the station, follow the pavement across the silver arched pedestrian bridge, directly ahead of you. Follow the pavement down for 100 metres and to the right, you will see the City Café sign on the corner ahead of you. At the City Café sign, turn slightly right onto Aytoun Street. The tram lines run parallel to Aytoun Street. You will see a directional sign saying City Centre. Carry on walking up Aytoun Street, you will cross the canal and you will see the Crown Court building up ahead of you on the left hand side. Cross over the road so you are on the same side as the Crown Court. Carry on walking past the Crown Court and Major Street car park (both on the left hand side) and the entrance to the venue is 100 metres ahead of you on the left hand side on the corner of Aytoun Street and Portland Street.

Manchester Oxford Road station (approx. 8 minutes walk) From the station concourse, come out of the main exit and follow the pavement down the slope for 100 metres. You will see the large clock tower ahead of you. At the bottom of the slope you will see the Palace Theatre on Oxford Street diagonally up ahead of you on the right hand side. Cross over the road onto Oxford Street so you are on the same side as the Palace Theatre and follow the street up for 200 metres until you get to the junction of Oxford Street and Portland Street. You will see a Genting casino on the opposite side of the road.
