Due to the remote nature of many static departments and the mobile service, many MRI radiographers rarely see a radiologist or gain feedback on scans and reports.

This interactive study day, held on computer workstations and aimed at radiographers, offers an overview of interpreting MR images of the brain and spine. It provides a review of normal and abnormal appearances that will help radiographers ensure that they’re providing the necessary images for the radiologists and correct demonstration of the area. The day will also cover how to identify red flag symptoms, manage urgent findings and when to escalate.

This event is sponsored by InHealth and is run in collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University College.

Learning outcomes:
  • Understand the clinical indications for MR of the spine and brain, including the red flag symptoms to look for and the appearances to escalate.
  • Understand the rationale for the choice of pulse sequence when imaging spine and brain.
  • Recognise key anatomy and common pathologies seen in the spine and brain.
  • Become familiar with the terminology used in preliminary clinical evaluation of images.

Event information
The number of places will be limited so that delegates can experience a more personalised, interactive method of teaching. Early booking is therefore strongly advised. The course will be run on computers to provide all delegates with the best posssible interactive experience
