Rolf Rossaint is a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Anaesthesiology of the University Hospital at the RWTH University Aachen, Germany. Prof. Rossaint has published several high-quality studies dealing with the treatment of severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). He has also been actively involved in research on the pathophysiology of trauma associated coagulopathy and possible treatments. A group of international experts involved in this research is chaired by Prof. Rossaint. The group has recently published the updated European guidelines on the management of traumatic induced bleeding. 


What are your key areas of interest and research? 
My key areas of interest and research are trauma, ECMO and telemedicine.

What are the major challenges in your field? 
To bring innovation into the clinical area; translation from basic research to clinical treatment.

What is your top management tip? 
Create the future.

What would you single out as a career highlight?
I believe that any measure or one's own innovation which persists in the clinical field can be considered as a career highlight.

Teacher.
