Turkish Society of Intensive Care (TSIC) was found in 1978 and now it is an active society with almost 1300 members. The aim of the society is to contribute to the intensive care science, improve education and service in intensive care, and to assist intensivists in their careers. Accordingly, we have organized scientific meetings, courses and workshops for many years in addition to our other activities. The participants to these meetings range from Turkey as well as from other countries. These colleagues have a chance to interact scientifically and socialize with other colleagues from many different countries and cultures, which leads to several self-acquisitions. International Intensive Care Symposium, which is one of these organizations, has been held bi-yearly by Turkish Society of Intensive Care.
